Michael Burges (* 1954, Düsseldorf) is a multi-faceted, internationally successful artist. His “Reverse Glass Paintings” are created using his very own technique. Acrylic, gold leaf and aluminum are the materials he uses for this. The artist prefers abstract color compositions and works with silver leaf and 23.75 carat gold leaf, among other things. His reverse glass paintings have an extraordinary color presence and aesthetic precision. Due to the aluminum framing technique he developed, the works appear to float in front of the wall. They act and interact with light and reflection, with random color patterns and structures.
